Great place to go camping. Has Swimming areas and playground for the kids. Very inexpensive camping and screened in shelters.

Beautiful one night stop. Lake was full and the water was cool. Covered picnic table, tidy hookups, paved and fairly level RV pad. This park is very spacious, affording the privacy and solitude we wanted after a long day of travel.

I was ready to give this place 5 stars for the huge, private, immaculate, shady RV campsite with covered picnic table, lake view and full hookups but then I used their showers. Huge disappointment. If you have a comfortable shower in your rig then it just won't matter but for us, our 19' trailer that we live in full time is tight on shower space since we also use it as a clothes closet and laundry room with a free standing washer/spin dryer. Bathroom has zero privacy. First one was backed up at the drain so dirty water everywhere. Drove to another one. It was dry but again no privacy. One shower curtain/2 showers. No private dressing area. Don't enter shower dressed as sensor will activate shower. Shower head sprayed a foot above my head (I'm 5'5"). There is no place for your towel or toiletries near or in the shower. There is no sink vanity, paper towels/dryer or trash can.

We've camped at Lakeside camp ground at Hordes Creek lake for over 30 years. We've seen it change from a primitive campground to the very nice campground of today. The campsites are well maintained and most of them have lots of shade. Restroom and shower facilities are on par with the public facilities at most state parks. We love it because it's less than an hour's drive from where we live and it's quiet and relaxing. The lake is low right now so it's not a place you can ski or jet ski. But you can fish. Just have to watch your speed on the water. Great place to stay.

We just enjoyed our first visit to Hords Creek Lake. Very well maintained, level, gravel spots for rv, enclosed room with picnic table and well trimmed trees. The rv sites are spaced well apart. There are different sections to this park, some have the enclosed, screened in rooms, some have covered shelters. There are fishing docks and boat docks. So many deer wandering the park. Can't wait to go back in the spring!
